NOW WHO'S IN THE SACK!

It's no surprise that Robert Palmieri would announce his candidacy in Utica's Mayoral race, it was rumored since he was fired by Mayor Roefaro earlier this year....what is a surprise is his announcement in relationship to the fundraiser announcement found on facebook yesterday, sponsored by Arcuri, Roefaro and Buddy Gigliotti...the bloodsuckers of Central New York, which was posted simultaneously to Palmieri's announcement..

We all know that politics makes for strange bed fellows, and politicians in the sack has been the focus of attention lately....but we have to seriously take notice of what is developing in the political arena, so that we don't support another crony of the fallen Arcuri/Roefaro regime.

When Palmieri was fired by Roefaro, I openly supported the notion that Palmieri may be a good candidate for Utica...for it was thought that Palmieri may have defected from the status quo.  I question that theory now, and think that Palmieri really needs to show the community that he has nothing...absolutely nothing to do with the machine.

The first step he should make is to publicly announce that he is an independent Democrat, who is not beholding to the machine and refuse any and all money from their fundraising efforts. I don't care if he doesn't have two nickels to rub together, he shouldn't take a penny from them, for if and when he does, he is no longer an independent candidate but rather a bought-and-paid-for crony of the same old regime.

My first question to Rob Palmieri is simply...will you be attending the fundraiser sponsored by Arcuri, Roefaro, and Gigliotti?  My second question; will you be benefiting and/or receiving any money generated from that fundraiser?

The answer to those simple questions will give us an idea of where you stand with the boys of the now defunct dees, dos and Dems club.  Remember, Palmieri has been a part of the machine for over twenty years.....show us that you've broken away from that party loyalty thing.....then and only then will we take your intentions as being sincere.

Sue, trust me, Rob is not in Roefaro's pocket. He hasn't spoken a word to him since Dave screwed him. Roefaro is already playing ball with Cardillo. Salatino (A Roefaro, LaBella and Arcuri Republican) has already announced to be Cardillo's running mate. The same old games are being played. The two power groups are lining up with Cardillo so they can make sure they have someone in there that won't expose the things that went on during the Julian and Roefaro administration. They know the Feds are just waiting for access to all the goods. Palmieri may be a lot of things, but he is not crooked. And he is not with that crowd. That's why Keeler's boy, Joe Hobika, took over the GOP Chairman spot. They're all plottiing. LaBella has been seen at the Radisson with Hobika several times. Remember, if Palmieri gets in, GroWest and everything else blows right up.

Good morning!

I was not insinuating that Rob was in Roefaro's pocket, but was concerned with any candidate being beholding to the machine if in fact they accept any contribution to fund their campaign.

I explained to Rob yesterday during our conversation, that I thought fundraising and accepting donations from grassroots people and not political party hacks would be best for the all of us in the longrun, for we all share the same vision....getting this city back to what it needs to be, without political interference that comes hand-in-hand with political contributions.

As always Rob was a gentlemen and dialog was easy...even though we do not see eye to eye on every issue.

I am hoping to interview all candidates to give my readers the inside scoop on their stand of the issues....the good, the bad and the ugly but certainly things that must be considered before casting our votes during the primary and November elections.

I find your comments very interesting seeing that the machine has always backed numerous candidates, ensuring a victory down the road, but cannot verify them at this time. I'm not saying that they are not credible, just no verification, but appreciate your input.

Hopefully in the very near future, I will be able to interview Cardillo and other candidates and get some insight.

Thanks for your comment.
